Prastiyou (21) was having his fourth race ride when he was successful on It's Essential.
Malaysian-born, Prastiyou is apprenticed to Paul Richards at Wingatui. He transferred to Richards in July from the Ashburton stable of Jan Hay.
• Glade is under consideration for the New Zealand One Thousand Guineas after an easy maiden win yesterday.
A $90,000 purchase at the 2011 select yearling sale at Karaka, she is the first horse trained by Michael Pitman for long-time owner Phil Bayly, of Tauranga.
Bayly (88) has raced numerous horses including Blue Denim (1980 Auckland Cup), Eagle Eye (1992 Sydney Cup, Ranvet Stakes and 1990 Levin Classic), Lion Tamer (2010 VRC Derby and 2011 Underwood Stakes), Harris Tweed (2009 Tulloch Stakes at Rosehill and 2010 Cummings Stakes at Flemington).
"Mr Bayly contacted me in February and said he had met me at Hokitika when he won the Miss Scenicland with Fantan (1980). He said he was sending me a filly to train," Pitman said.
Glade was placed in two of her three starts as a 2yr-old when trained by John Bary.
She is by Ifraaj and the second foal of Eden, a winning Zeditive mare who is a three-quarter sister to Chlorophyll, winner of the group one Coolmore Classic.
Glade was in the lead after 200m over 800m yesterday. She won untouched by a length and three-quarters from her stablemate, Keltic Kitty, who was prominent throughout.
Pitman said Keltic Kitty, a showy One Cool Cat filly, would be better suited on a firm track.
Pitman said he would now look at starting Glade in the Canterbury Belle Stakes as a prelude to the One Thousand Guineas.
Glade was ridden by Chris Johnson, who said she was "quite impressive".
Johnson also won the hurdles yesterday on Silk 'N' Satin, who led throughout.
• Miss Millbrook, who won yesterday, will be tried again at stud this spring. She was sent to Raise The Flag last season but failed to cycle.
Miss Millbrook was ridden by Toni Direen, who also won on Zolatoi. She was the replacement for Matthew Cropp on Zolatoi. Cropp was unable to make the weight. He was fined $100.
A charge against Cropp of not giving Stormin Normin every chance to win at Waverley on July 5 has been dismissed by the Judicial Control Authority.
