And that association will continue when the pair combine for the $20,000 Otago Hurdles at Wingatui tomorrow.
Supercharged has had 17 cracks at the jumping caper and succeeded twice - both with Mitchell (23) on board.
Their first win as a duo came at Riccarton in 2012, but the other came earlier this month at Riverton in the Great Western Hurdle.
''He looked well down there,'' Mitchell said.
''He handled the ground all right which was a real plus.''
Supercharged's front-running performance at Riverton was not in the initial plan, but Mitchell was pleased with how the 8yr-old responded to unfamiliar tactics, especially when he was tackled in the last 800m.
''I didn't really want to be in front so early but he seemed to handle that pretty easy,'' Mitchell said.
''It kept him interested and kept him moving. It didn't really give him a break but, on the other hand, it kept him going forward which is good.
Supercharged will have to lump an extra 4kg over an additional 200m in tomorrow's 2700m feature, but the weight is not Mitchell's paramount concern.
''I don't think the weight will worry him too much.
''But with the amount of rain they've had down there, it's going to be hard going for all the horses.
''That will probably be the biggest thing for him.''
Mitchell will try to avoid front-running tactics this week to allow the son of Casual Lies to finish off well.
''I'd probably like - if I could - just to sit in behind the speed and save all his energy.''
The biggest threat to Supercharged should be the North Taieri-trained jumper High Forty. His fifth on the flat at Oamaru last week will tighten him up for tomorrow's race.
Mitchell has two other rides, including maiden hurdler Mr Nobody, whom Mitchell first encountered at the stables of his employers, Graeme and Debbie Rogerson, near Hamilton.
The 6yr-old is owned by horsewoman Michelle Northcott, who has had a long association with the Rogerson stables.
''I've schooled him quite a few times while he's been up north and I've ridden him a few times. He's won one or two on the flat up here, so he should be pretty competitive over the hurdles down there.
''He really enjoys his jumping. He's pretty confident and he's a nice horse really.''
Mitchell does not know too much about Giocchino in the Otago Steeplechase, but hoped the 3200m might suit the Murray Hamilton-trained gelding more than a longer distance.
''Because the field size isn't the biggest so, hopefully, he'll have a bit of room around him to build his confidence up and he can settle into the race well.''
