The blueblood trotter got things right for the first time this season when scoring a front-running win during a busy month for the Waimate couple.
The Greg and Nina Hope-trained trotter has caused the Williamses plenty of heartbreak this campaign, by breaking in each of her four prior starts.
The talented trotter was disqualified from first and second placings in two of those starts because of her bad manners.
On Saturday, One Over Da Stars went some way towards repaying her owners for the roller-coaster ride she has taken them on with a faultless display for driver Ricky May.
"It is such a waste of trotting talent," Lex Williams said.
"Ricky said she would go straight to open class if she would just do things right.
"She just ran away from them today. It was very impressive."
Williams said why the mare chose to do things right on Saturday was a mystery.
However, he revealed that she may have benefited from being ridden in work this week at the Hope stable.
The Williamses are preparing for a busy month away from the racetrack. The couple are preparing to move to Ocean View, near Dunedin, from their long-time base near Waimate.
They have one horse to put through the ring at the national yearling sales at Christchurch next week before their shift. They will offer a Somebeachsomewhere colt from Flying Mrs Williams.
The breeder-owners topped the trotting section of last year's sale with a Love You colt from their champion racemare, One Over Kenny.
One Over Kenny has a yearling colt on the ground by Angus Hall, who is not entered in this year's sale.
The millionaire trotter had a colt by Majestic Son this season, which could be put through the ring next year.
One Over Kenny was showing no signs of her 16 years. The champion chestnut could regularly be seen sprinting around her paddock like a yearling, Williams said.
The Hope stable won the feature pace at the meeting when Gimmefiveminutesmore prevailed in a nail-biting finish.
Just a half-head and two nose margins separated the first four horses home in the 2000m handicap.
Gimmefiveminutesmore held out runner-up, Machjagger, with Linton Shard third and Doitson fourth.
The 4yr-old's victory added to a big weekend for Canterbury owner Reg Storer.
Storer part-owns Gimmefiveminutesmore and Letspendanitetogetha, the winner of the group 3 Summer Cup at Addington on Friday night.
