Southland proved too good for Otago in Invercargill this evening, running out winners 32-15 in their Mitre 10 Cup clash.

Otago led 15-10 at the break but the home side took over in the second half, with some real sparkle on attack and making runs from all over the park.

Southland were tenacious on defence and scored some nice tries in the second half.

With the win they stay in the hunt for the playoffs. Otago need to go back to the drawing board after a mistake-ridden performance.

Southland 32 (Tony Lamborn, Matthew James, Tevita Latu, Talemaitoga Tuapati tries; Scott Eade con, 2 pen; Greg Dyer 2 con), Otago 15 (Sio Tomkinson, Freedom Vahaakolo tries; Josh Ioane con, pen) Halftime: 15-10 Otago

Comments
