Taieri has the chance to win back to back premier rugby championship titles when it meets Dunedin in the final at the Forsyth Barr Stadium next Saturday.
Taieri came from behind to beat University A 30-23 in the late semi-final at the University Oval today.
The students started the game with fire to score two tries in the first four minutes and looked to have the game in the bag when they led 23-10 at the break.
Taieri scored 20 unanswered points in the second spell and won the game when centre Michael Collins grabbed the ball and ran 20m to score under the bar.
Dunedin also came back to life in the second spell to beat Southern 29-23.
Southern first five-eighth Ben Patston had a superb tactical kicking game that helped the Magpies to a 13-6 lead at the break.
He also kicked five goals and the penalty he kicked in the first minute of the second spell gave Southern a 10 point, 16-6, lead.
But the fired up Dunedin forwards made the difference in the second spell as Dunedin scored 23 unanswered points to win the game.
