Rugby: Halftime to be extended in Super Rugby

The halftime break is to be extended from 10 to 12 minutes in this year's Super Rugby competition.

Sanzar, Super Rugby's organising body, announced the extension today. It brings Super Rugby into line with internationals, which already have a 12-minute halftime.

The longer break has commercial advantages for television.

Sanzar also today confirmed the venues and times for all matches in 2013. In one change, the third-round match between the Blues and Crusaders at Eden Park on March 1 will kick-off at 7.30pm.
