Rod Mathias bought the Montana bottle at a local supermarket and is now toasting his success after winning tickets, air fares and accommodation for every All Black game at the Rugby World Cup.
"I just hope they make the final."
As the winner, he was asked to choose which team he planned to support, and there was only one answer.
"All Blacks all the way. I am picking a New Zealand versus Australia or South Africa final and I hope we knock out France."
As part of the prize package, he was able to take a fellow fan to each game, and he was taking family and friends to various games around the country.
"I hope I get some of the sponsor's product."
Mathias, a production manager with Dunedin-based company Signguys, said he had an understanding boss who would let him "disappear".
"I might have to wear a cap to promote the business."
