Hayden Parker gets his chance to direct Otago around the paddock, while young Taieri prop Aki Seiuli gets to wear the blue and gold jersey in the team named to play Tasman on Sunday.

Parker is named at first five-eighth for the match at Forsyth Barr Stadium, and Tony Ensor again plays at fullback, after he impressed in the custodian's role against South Canterbury last week.

Paul Grant will captain the side again in a match which will undoubtedly be a tougher examination than experienced last week against the men from Timaru. A shadow Otago team, playing as the Sassenachs, beat South Canterbury 87-0.

Sam Anderson-Heather gets his first start for Otago in the hotly-contested hooking position. Fumiaka Tanaka starts at halfback and Brad Weber is on the bench, although all players are expected to get some time on the field.

Tasman has some experience, with former All Black Campbell Johnstone named at prop, and former Otago and Highlanders lock Filipo Levi, who played for Tasman last year, at lock.

Former Otago B player Andrew Goodman will again captain Tasman.

Robbie Malneek, who has played 63 games for the union, mainly in the outside backs, will start at first five-eighth for the Makos.

The Otago union is inviting the public to come on to the concrete pad at the Otago Daily Times stand end of the ground after the game to meet the Otago players. Only the North Stand will be open for the game.
