Injury-hit South Africa, which has struggled since beating England in last year's World Cup final, knows the English want some revenge on Saturday.
The visiting forward line will be stripped of hooker Bismarck du Plessis (hamstring) and prop Gurthro Steenkamp (ankle) for the test at Twickenham.
Prop Brain Mujati and wing Bryan Habana are likely to have recovered after responding well to treatment. Mujati has a bruised shoulder, while Habana is recovering to a thigh injury.
Halfback Fourie du Preez faces further tests after missing last week's victory at Scotland due to a strained quadriceps muscle.
South Africa coach Peter de Villiers said his squad is afflicted by mental fatigue as last October's 15-6 victory over England in France fades into history.
"Five days more and then it's the end of the year. It's going to be very difficult. I just hope they uplift themselves a little to the level we expect," de Villiers said today.
"You look where we started last year in November. The players had three weeks off and then went straight into Super 14 and then it goes on and on and on. All of these guys played Currie Cup, too."
The Springboks labored to a 14-10 win over Scotland last Saturday, and while the English lost to Australia 28-14 on the same day, de Villiers still knows they pose a threat.
"The halfbacks played exceptionally well and I think the fullback (Delon Armitage) is someone who, if you don't deal with him correctly, will nail you," de Villiers said.
"There aren't a lot of weaknesses in the England side, and any game where you play the world champions gives you extra motivation."
