More than 1000 people gathered in Wanaka this afternoon to welcome successful Winter Olympians Zoi Sadowski-Synnott and Nico Porteous.

The pair are being given a parade around the town before they take part in an autograph session at the Cardrona office, at the corner of Helwick St and Dunmore St.

The events give the community the opportunity to see New Zealand's first Winter Olympic medals since 1992.

The pair claimed bronze for New Zealand at the Games in PyeongChang - Zoi in the snowboard big air and Nico in the freestyle halfpipe.
