Dunedin police are warning students to lock their doors after a man was seen repeatedly creeping into a student flat during the day.

Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said the flat in Forth St was targeted three times, all during the day.

The man, who was described as small in stature and wearing a hoody with the hood pulled up, crept through the ranch slider on three separate occasions.

The incidents were classed as burglaries and some alcohol was reported missing from the fridge, but items including TVs had been left behind.

Snr Sgt Dinnissen said Campus Watch were aware of the incidents and he urged people to keep their doors locked and know what their flatmates were doing, so properties were not inadvertently left unlocked.

Dunedin police (03) 471-4800, Crimestoppers 0800-555-111.
