A bus came to a grinding halt in the Dunedin suburb of St Leonards after the driver made an error attempting to complete a turn.

A motorist who was passing by told the Otago Daily Times the bus ended up stuck on the edge of road next to the Port Chalmers shared pathway after making the error about 2pm.

No-one was hurt, but a few passengers had their journey interrupted and were given a ride by a passing car.

A mechanic was called to the scene to help free the bus.,

A classic, so by a few passengers we mean 4 or less. Sums up why the buses need a total rethink. Why not smaller buses eg a Toyota Hiace van or similar? why have a bus service in the first place?, if it was totally eliminated- our rates would be 10-12% less and our roads would not be as pot-holed.
