A Dunedin resident got creative with the newly arrived circles on Princes St over the weekend, filling one in with spray paint in a shape appearing similar to the image of Covid-19.

The dots were implemented to remind drivers the road was a shared space between cars and pedestrians, with a 10kmh speed limit.

The temporary changes, including the dots, speed bumps and signs, cost the Dunedin City Council $40,000.

I'd rather they spent our $40,000 on something useful or helpful instead of this child's playground for councilors. And then another $40,000 to remove it! Unbelievable!

No, it cost the ratepayers $40,000 to paint school ground graphics onto a cities main street. Let's be factual about who actually pays for this dangerous ill conceived rubbish.
I've seen children trying to jump from one circle to the next with cars around them. This is a road people, a jolly ROAD, not a place for children to dawdle and play!!! What were you lot thinking? Beggars belief. And you're all so called, "QUALIFIED". If a child, or anyone else is hit by a car, I wonder if the DCC will be sued? Will DCC insurers cover that potential risk? Will Hawkins and Bidrose apologetically do a bedside visit to the victim, cheque book in hand? Just sort it out, so dangerous it's just not funny.
And you Sue, suggesting you have no idea what the fuss is about? Are you serious?
