Extinction Rebellion protesters again took to the tracks at the Dunedin Railway Station yesterday morning in a bid to prevent a train carrying coal from Southland from passing through.

It was the latest in a series of protests against the use of coal in New Zealand.

After negotiating with Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen (pictured), protesters left the tracks without incident about 8.45am.
