The ODT has six Summer Times family book hampers to give away courtesy of our regular books page publishers.
Each 10-book hamper, worth hundreds of dollars, has a mix of books for all ages and across various genres, ensuring there should be something for most members of the family to read this summer. Keep reading our Summer Times pages for your chance to win.
HAMPER 1
Today's hamper contains some top fiction - Man Booker prize-winning The Luminaries, by New Zealand author Eleanor Catton (Victoria University Press), Scandinavian thriller Police by Jo Nesbo (Random House) and some homegrown high-country romance courtesy of Blackpeak Station by Holly Ford (Random House).
Non-fiction books are the enlarged and revised edition of Landscape Paintings of New Zealand by Christopher Johnstone (Random House) which contains 135 paintings from early colonial to contemporary painters, the stunning and informative Birds of NZ: A Photographic Guide, by Paul Schofield and Brent Stephenson (Auckland University Press), an insight into royalty with Kate: The Future Queen by Katie Nicholl (Weinstein Books and distributor Newsouth Books) and the intriguing story of a motorsport legend in The Wizard of Oz: Speed, Modernism and the Last Ride of Norman ''Wizard'' Smith by Clinton Walker (Wakefield Press).
For teens, there is the steampunk time-travel adventure Julius and the Watchmaker by Tim Hehir (Text Publishing), and young children's picture books The Weather Machine by Donovan Bixley (Hachette) and She'll Be Coming Round the Mountain, with pictures by Jenny Cooper plus a CD sung by the Topp Twins (Scholastic).
