CD reviews: David Guetta

A cursory scroll though production credits and chart placings will verify David Guetta's standing as the king of dance, a titan of trance, and other absolutes in the universe of rhythm.

Armed with euphoric beats that could trigger mass bowel movement, his sixth release, Listen, bursts with stadium-sized anthems set to bolster his fearsome live reputation (barring, of course, misplaced USB-related catastrophes).

Yet in spite of winning cameos from Sia (The Whisperer), and Ryan Tedder (S.T.O.P.) there's a monotony to the martial rhythms, which are airbrushed, glossy, and little more than Euro-pop bouncy castles.

David Guetta. Listen. Warner Music.
