CD reviews: Decades

Having been around for the past seven or so years, Christchurch rockers Decades has arrived at its major-label debut album, The Truth And Other People, on which Emma Cameron (guitar, vocals), Liam Muir (guitar), Daniel Perry (drums) and Curtis Booth (bass) continue the guitar-heavy vibe of previous singles Terrified, If It Kills Me and I Was With Him.

To this add new single Get Me Home, a rock-riff juggernaut that brings to mind Shihad. Bombastic, occasionally claustrophobic in its wall-of-guitar approach, The Truth And Other People is also a exercise in catharsis: Muir's blistering technique provides the tension and Cameron's voice the release.
