SIT - A wealth of opportunities — with zero fees!

WHETHER you are looking to enter the workforce for the first time, changing career paths or simply keen on upskilling, the Southern Institute of Technology (SIT) is certain to have the option that is right for you.

Their extensive variety of programmes in a wide range of industries include: Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing, Business, Creative Industries, Agriculture and Floristry, Health, Massage Therapy, Social Services, Sport and Exercise, Hospitality, Hotel Management, Tourism and Travel, Information Technology (Computing) and Trades and Technology.

Their highly skilled tutors enable you to learn in a friendly and welcoming environment that supports you in achieving your study and career goals.

Civil Engineering is a new degree which is further complemented by the new Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma in Engineering Technology, providing students with an additional Level 7 qualification to progress to from the New Zealand Diploma.

There is currently a shortage of civil engineers throughout the country, with many more employment options than graduates being produced. If you have an interest in designing and building roads, structures, utility infrastructure and buildings, civil engineering is the broadest field of engineering and could be a study option worth pursuing.

Another industry experiencing significant growth is the construction industry. SIT has two qualifications that are suitable for either school-leavers, those looking to change careers or builders wanting to specialise in a different area of construction.

Under the Zero Fees scheme, SIT will cover your tuition fees if you are a New Zealand citizen, resident, or permanent resident living in New Zealand during your study.

It’s simple, all you have to pay for are the direct material costs associated with your course.

In 2018, SIT also introduced the Mayor Tim Shadbolt Accommodation Bursaries for Invercargill. The bursary is available to all students eligible for study at the Invercargill campus, under the Government’s Fee Free policy. These students will be offered shared accommodation at SIT’s apartments in Invercargill for free, or, alternatively, $100 per week for up to 40 weeks’ accommodation, regardless of whether they are living at home or renting in Invercargill.

Investigate your study options for semester 2, and look forward to a brighter future with SIT! Find out more at www.sit.ac.nz
