The constant rumble of engines could be heard everywhere in the small city that was made bigger by local man Burt Munro who still holds the record of 183.58mph recorded at Bonneville Salt Flats in the United States.
Invercargill geared up for its biggest event of the year - the Burt Munro Challenge, which kicked of on Thursday 8th February with thousands of motorcycle riders and spectators who visited the city for the four-day event. Organisers worked overtime to ensure everything was ready for this years event which has moved dates from November in the hope of more favourable weather conditions.
