Henry van Asch is co-founder and managing director of  A J Hackett Bungy New Zealand.

What was the best birthday present you ever received, and why?

A giant rubber stamp of New Zealand with a big ink pad. It was given to me by a friend for a significant birthday and it perfectly captured my love of New Zealand in this very cool object.

What is your least favourite thing about humanity?

People's inability to forgive, which ultimately can lead to horrific suffering, conflict, and civil war.

What is one strong childhood memory?

My first ride in a helicopter. I was about 5 and we were doing some spraying over the family farm on Banks Peninsula. It's a memory that stayed with me always; and caused me a lot of problems later.

What is your message?

Life is short, take every opportunity to make the most of it: live more, fear less.

What's something only your family knows about you?

My wardrobe is extremely organised, with my shirts categorised by colour, length of sleeve, jackets or trousers together. Everything has a place. Nothing ever ends up on a chair or the floor.
