Kris Faafoi is Minister of Broadcasting, Communications and Digital Media; Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs; Minister of Government Digital Services; and, Associate Minister of Housing.

What was the best birthday present you ever received, and why?

I had a big party for my 40th, a few years back. I miss seeing old friends, so to have friends and family together was amazing. Plenty of whisky, yarns and singing. I’d much rather have good times than things. Oh yeah, and anything my fiancée Mae has got me. (Nice save.)

What is your message?

Good grief. I don’t want to sound like a Hallmark card. But I have found in life that following my mum’s advice has been beneficial. And that when I haven’t, life has been more difficult. I think there’s something in that.

If you were going to an island and could take only three things, what would they be?

My family, my guitars, my whisky. (Yes, I know this is the second mention of whisky.)

What's something only your family knows about you?

Ask them about the snoring.

You are a new addition to the crayon box. What colour are you, and why?

Green. Because I could draw crocodiles, trees, dinosaurs, frogs and peas. (Parents with young kids may recognise this list.)
