A University of Otago student is one of four people to have won William Georgetti Scholarships worth a total of $318,000 to attend top world universities.
Emma Dixon will go to Oxford University, to study biochemistry.
The others are Tehnuka Ilanko, from the University of Waikato, who will go to Cambridge University to study volcanology; Rebecca Rose, from the University of Waikato, who will go to either Harvard, New York, Chicago, Cambridge or Oxford University to study applications of economics and quantitative methods to law and legal institutions; and Richard Zhang, from the University of Canterbury, who will go to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to investigate issues surrounding electric and hybrid vehicle engines.
