The club raised $8000 towards the cost of a new defibrillator for St John Taieri's ambulance.
The funds were raised by a charity book sale.
Mosgiel Rotary Club president Lea Johnson said she was pleased with the club's efforts.
''It was a successful book sale and well supported by the community,'' she said.
St John Taieri area committee chairman John Hanrahan said the funds were much appreciated.
''Any money we receive, like this, is a big boost to us,'' he said.
''It's a big help to us.
''It means we can do something else with another $8000,'' Mr Hanrahan said.
The new defibrillator, a Lifepak 15, gave paramedics more capability and meant they were better placed to be able to save lives if a defibrillator was needed.
The defibrillator, which cost about $22,000, was bought about a month ago and was already in use in the ambulance.
St John Taieri would also buy a simulator to train paramedics to use the defibrillator, he said.
''The Rotary club have always been very supportive to St John in Mosgiel,'' he said.
''They have always been a great supporter of St John and we are very grateful of that.''
