The organisers of a concert to benefit South Dunedin residents are expecting a flood of support on Friday.
Rise Above organiser Paul Allen asked musicians to perform free to raise money for South Dunedin residents hit by flooding earlier this month.
Seven acts, including The Chills singer Martin Phillipps, will perform at the Performing Arts Centre, in Bay View Rd, from 7pm.
The other musicians set to perform are The Mentalist Collective, Reo, Dave Coleclough, Robyn Johnston Music, Ronnie Stash and Steve King.
The concert should deliver ''a good mix'' of music including reggae, country and rock, Mr Allen said.
The King's and Queen's centre can seat 370 people and seating will be ''first in, first served''.
Entry is by donation.
''Whatever people can afford to enter. It is for a good cause, it is for South Dunedin,'' Mr Allen said.
All money raised would go to the Dunedin Flood Appeal. Co-organiser Darryl Baser said the family-friendly two-hour concert would provide an opportunity for the community to come together.
''For people who were affected by the floods it will be a nice night out.''
Phillipps said he was performing because he lived near the flooded neighbourhoods.
''It is part of my community. I didn't have a lot of damage but obviously a lot of people did. If what I can do can help at all, that would be good.''
He would play a mixture of old and new songs, he said.
