Alleged assault in central city

Dunedin police are investigating an alleged assault following an incident in Princes St today.

A police spokeswoman said officers were called to the scene about 4.20pm by St John officers who were treating a male who appeared to have been assaulted.

The spokeswoman said they were "making inquiries in relation to possible offenders".

She said it didn't appear to have been a serious assault.
