More than 250 motorbikes packed into the central and lower Octagon, Dunedin, at the weekend during the annual Bikers Rights of New Zealand (Bronz) "toy run" event.
Motorcyclists rode their machines from Careys Bay to the Octagon on Saturday afternoon, with George St temporarily closed to other traffic between Frederick St and the Octagon, enabling the bikers to ride in procession for the last few blocks of their run.
The toy run has been organised by Bronz Otago for the past 27 years, and toys have been given by the bikers, their friends and other members of the public.
A large trailer full of toys, including a growing number of educational toys, will be distributed to youngsters in need at Christmas by the Dunedin North Lions Club.
Bronz Otago president Bob Gillespie was pleased with the outcome of the latest run and said Bronz members were always happy to support a worthy charitable cause.
