Armed Offenders Squad in Mornington

Dunedin detectives were backed up by armed police as they executed a search warrant in Mornington this afternoon.

Streets were cordoned off during the 4pm operation. 

A man is now speaking with police, while a woman is helping police with their inquiries.

The search was conducted without incident and the cordons in the area have been lifted.

A police spokesman said there were no concerns for the safety of residents in the area.
