Police have arrested a woman for a making a gun threat at Dunedin bank staff.
The 43-year-old Dunedin woman was arrested and charged with threatening behaviour after she threatened to bring a gun into a Westpac Dunedin branch, a Southern police spokesman said.
It comes a week after an anonymous internet user threatened to carry out a shooting at the University of Otago's Dunedin campus.
The police spokesman said there was no link between the two incidents.
"She threatened to take a gun to Westpac. She didn't say she was going to shoot anyone," he said.
Police could not comment on her motivations or her intent as the matter was before court.
The woman will appear in the Dunedin District Court.
