Awards for top scholars

Two former Dunedin secondary school pupils will be among the 29 elite pupils to be presented with awards in Parliament today for being top performers in the 2008 scholarship exams.

Former Logan Park High School pupil Theresa Ammann scored the top mark in New Zealand for the German scholarship exam and former Kavanagh College pupil Nicholas Swindells scored the top mark for drama.

Education Minister Anne Tolley and Governor-General Sir Anand Satyanand will co-present the awards.

Mrs Tolley said the awards were about celebrating the best in achievement by New Zealand's senior secondary school pupils.
