Bookworm bedlam: Time-lapse of the 24hr book sale

Watch the mayhem on our fantastic time-lapse video, as thousands of bookworms jostle about for great finds at this year's annual Star Regent 24 hour Book Sale.

After a hectic day volunteers are already cleaning up the aftermath following the 38th annual Star Regent 24 hour Book Sale on Saturday afternoon.

Organiser Alison Cunningham was delighted with the turnout at this year's sale.

We haven't got the total yet, but we feel like we've sold more books than we sold last year.

It was certainly much busier for the first 12 hours or so, than it was last year, so we're really happy.

Last year we made around $70,000. I'd be disappointed if we don't make a bit more than that.''

The sale began at noon on Friday and finished at noon on Saturday, and tens of thousands of books were on sale.
