Boyracers in Mosgiel received a large police greeting when they arrived at their usual Friday night haunt, Senior Sergeant Darryl Lennane, of Mosgiel, said.
About 30 police, assisted by court bailiffs and transport agency staff, inspected 46 cars in the midnight sting on Dukes Rd.
Two vehicles were impounded for unpaid fines and five unsafe vehicles taken off the road.
Ad van was found with no back seats and nine passengers was impounded. Multiple infringement notices were issued and one arrest was made for obstructing police, he said.
