Burglars target warehouse again

A Dunedin warehouse was broken into for the second time in 10 days, police say.

The Turakina Rd store, which sells electronic goods online, had its locks broken and thieves ''trashed inside the premises,'' Sergeant Steve Aitken, of Dunedin, said.

It was unknown what was taken in the burglary, the second in 10 days, he said.

Meanwhile, a meat-loving thief was disturbed trying to access a meat chiller last week.

The man was disturbed trying to access the chiller at the Dunedin Mad Butcher store on Andersons Bay Rd on Thursday afternoon, Sgt Aitken said.

He fled in the direction of a nearby car yard.

He was wearing a white jacket and black hoodie pulled over his head.
