The 57-year-old has tried modern dating apps, but he finds them quite difficult to navigate.
"I’m kind of old-fashioned and would like to meet someone in person who’s interested in me, rather than a picture of me on a website."
Mr Taylor said his wife died of breast cancer four years ago and he would soon be an "empty nester".

"It just allows me to get out and be a little less lonely at home.
"I live with my youngest son still, but my other two children have left home and are doing their own thing.
"But he’s 18 and pretty soon I’ll be totally on my own.
"So it just allows me to get out and meet new people."
He said he also loved to busk because he loved to share music with people.
"Since it’s a God-given gift, I should share it and hopefully it gives people some enjoyment as they go about their day.
"Maybe I’ll play a song that means something to somebody."
He can be found busking at Albion Lane, Otago Farmers’ Market and Gardens New World at least two to three times a week.
