Hundreds of volunteers will be out on the streets in Dunedin tonight collecting canned food for the city's four major food banks.
Co-ordinator Jane Orbell said emergency services would collect cans between 4pm and 6pm, and people would be aware when the volunteers were in their area because horns would be blaring.
People could give as much or as little as they liked.
Donations could be left beside letterboxes.
