A police spokeswoman said they were advised that a child was struck by a car on Auld St at 9am.
‘‘Fortunately the car appears to have been travelling at a low speed and the child is reported to have sustained only minor injuries,’’ the spokeswoman said.
A Hato Hone St John spokeswoman said the child did not require transportation to hospital.
