From catwalks in Paris to catwalks in Dunedin, German-born designer Lutz Huelle is "excited" to be part of this month's iD Dunedin Fashion Week.

Twice winner of Andam, Europe's biggest fashion award, he will show a retrospective collection at the iD Dunedin Fashion Shows on March 30 and 31.

Coming to Dunedin directly from Paris Fashion Week, the designer who founded Paris-based Lutz Huelle with business partner David Ballu in 2000, will join New Zealand designers Nom*D, Tanya Carlson, Mild Red and Charmaine Reveley in the shows.

Huelle and Ballu will also join fellow guests British fashion journalist Hilary Alexander, and Australian fashion authority Nicholas Huxley on the iD International Emerging Designer Awards judging panel.

The fashion week runs from March 27 to April 1.

"We are very pleased and excited about coming to New Zealand to be part of iD Dunedin Fashion Week.

"We are particularly looking forward to seeing the creativity and joy that's sure to be on display at this year's emerging designer awards," Huelle said.

Dunedin audiences will see a retrospective collection from Huelle at both fashion shows.

iFashion week committee chairwoman Susie Staley said she was "thrilled" to have him on board.

"Lutz Huelle is known internationally for his groundbreaking designs ... . For more than a decade, his collections have wowed crowds at fashion events all around the world and now audiences get to enjoy seeing his exquisite collections on the iD catwalk," she said.
