Event co-ordinator Tony Harris praised strong local support for the Saturday show, which began at the Portobello Domain at 9am.
And a change of focus had broadened the show's appeal this year.
There had been a strong emphasis on horses at last year's event. Horses played a significant role again this year, but there was also a much stronger focus on motor vehicles of various kinds.
About 30 V8 cars and an armoured personnel carrier were on display this year.
Mr Harris was ''stoked'' with the community's positive response. More than 500 people had attended and there had been strong support from residents and the Peninsula and Portobello business communities.
''I'm just really lucky with the people who helped me.''
There were 23 stalls this year- well up on last year.
''I couldn't be happier with how the day has gone,'' Mr Harris said.
Subject to final tallying and checking, he believed about $6500 had been raised for two charitable causes: the community swimming pool at Portobello School, and the Peninsula Toy Library.
