Finger Lickin' bad: Ute rams cop car in KFC drive-through

Two women have been arrested after a police car was rammed in a KFC drive-through in North Dunedin this morning.

An eyewitness said police were alerted to the presence of two women at a North Dunedin location about 6.30am.

He was told the couple were wanted by police on outstanding warrants.

When police arrived the couple attempted to flee the motel where one one of them was staying.

They attempted to make their escape through the North Dunedin KFC drive-through.

Police cars entered the drive-through in an attempt to stop them leaving and the pair used their ute to ram a police car,  the witness said.

However their bid for freedom was unsuccessful, and another eyewitness said police broke a window of the ute to remove an uncooperative passenger.

A police spokeswoman said two women were taken into custody by police and were due to appear in court tomorrow — one on charges of burglary and the other for breaching bail conditions.
