More indecent behaviour incidents reported

Indecent behaviour continues to be reported in the Dunedin Botanic Garden.

Dunedin City Council parks and recreation group manager Robert West said a security patrol discovered a man ``behaving indecently in the arboretum'' on Saturday afternoon.

``This is obviously concerning behaviour and we'll continue to have security patrols in the garden.''

Police were informed and members of the public were encouraged to report any further indecent behaviour to police immediately, Mr West said.

The incident comes after police apprehended a man alleged to have performed an indecent act in a toilet at the garden last week.

He was now before the courts in Timaru.

Last month, police received a report of a man performing an indecent act in front of another person at the garden.

Officers were speaking to the victim but did not catch up with the alleged offender.

Recent reports of indecent behaviour in the city were not confined to the botanic garden.

Senior Sergeant Mark Donaldson, of Dunedin, said police received a complaint of a man indecently exposing himself in St Clair yesterday morning.
