Police called over alleged threats to MSD staff

Police were called to the Ministry of Social Development office in South Dunedin this morning after reports of a man making threatening comments to staff.

A police spokeswoman said they were called at 9.05am to the Hillside Rd branch, but the man had left by the time they arrived. Officers then searched but were unable to find the man, she said.

''There'll be follow-up inquiries.''

No-one was hurt in the incident and the man was understood not to be wielding a weapon.
