A 22-year-old student was arrested in Dunedin at the weekend for allegedly making secret recordings of another person and stealing "personal items".
Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin, said the foreign national was accused of installing a concealed "nanny cam" in a shared bathroom at his accommodation.
This was found by the victim.
He was also charged with theft of personal items.
He will appear in the Dunedin District Court this week.
