"Don’t leave your valuables in your car, even if it’s parked in your driveway."
That is the warning from Senior Sergeant Craig Dinnissen, of Dunedin police, following a spate of smash-and-grabs targeting cars in the city.In one recent incident in Carr St, a camera worth $3000 and a cellphone were taken from a Toyota Porte after a side window was smashed.
Cars were also broken into in recent days in Grosvenor, Bridgman, Ann and Northumberland Sts.
Among the items taken were tools, a toolbox, locks and emergency lighting.
