Cr John Chambers said he was due to talk to independent investigator Steph Dyhrberg tomorrow in response to a complaint by Cr Benedict Ong.
"I cannot make any other comment at this stage," Cr Chambers said.
Ms Dyhrberg is to make a preliminary assessment of Cr Ong’s allegation Cr Chambers breached the Dunedin City Council’s code of conduct.
He accused Cr Chambers of making "remarks against our South Asian community" last month.
Cr Ong was told by Ms Dyhrberg last week he had not yet provided sufficient information about his complaint.

"Cr Chambers needs the opportunity in terms of natural justice to respond to the full allegations."
Cr Ong said he provided more detail for Ms Dyhrberg in a discussion with her on Tuesday.
This was aimed at ensuring a full investigation would go ahead, he said.
"It should proceed, and it should not be deemed as being insufficient or incomplete."
Cr Ong said he was to review a transcript of his call with Ms Dyhrberg to verify its accuracy.
