Construction of the new Mosgiel Dominos Pizza store is well under way and national manager Scott Bush is ''expecting to be serving hot pizzas by the end of the month, if not a few days earlier''.
Mr Bush said Dominos had been working hard to open the store in Mosgiel and was excited to have Greg Riach, who has extensive experience with the company, running it.
The new Gordon Rd store had created about 15-20 new jobs within the company.
Mr Riach said he was ''blown away from people applying for roles''.
''My phone has been ringing off the hook''.
Mr Riach approached Work and Income to source applicants for the various roles on offer.
''We need staff for every role, customer service, making, cutting, management and drivers.''
Interviewing took place on Tuesday and Wednesday
last week and successful applicants will be notified this week.
However, Mr Riach said he was still looking to fill ''a few key roles'' in the store.
There have been no issues affecting the pace of the build and a spokeswoman for Dominos said the ''community support has been overwhelming''.
