Dunedin police have released the name of the man who died after the car he was driving crashed in upper Stuart St.
He was Daryl Ian Griffith (55) of Dunedin.
The crash near Littlebourne Rd happened about 5.30pm on Monday last week.
Police said today that "initial inquiries suggest the man did not die as a result of the crash, but possibly of a medical event''.
The Coroner would determine the ultimate cause of death, police said.
