Dunedin singer's record second best of the year: Mojo

The second album by Port Chalmers singer-songwriter Nadia Reid is better than records by Kendrick Lamar, Queens of the Stone Age and The National.

That's according to Mojo magazine, which ranked Reid's highly acclaimed record Preservation No. 2 on its list of the 50 best albums of 2017.

Mojo praised Reid's album for being full of "heartbreak, wise introspection, lyrical observation, fluid folk guitars and hook filled pop smarts".

Reid isn't the only Kiwi to make the list's top 10 - Aldous Harding's Party ranked at No. 10. Mojo called it "magical" and "eccentric".

Records by A Tribe Called Quest, Sleaford Mods and The Moonlandingz also made the top 10, which was topped by LCD Soundsystem's American Dream.
