Applications opened for the annual Speight's environmental fund this week and $35,000 is available for organisations looking to fund environmental projects in Otago.
''If it's about improving Otago's environment, it'll be eligible for funding,'' PR manager Tom Frankish said.
Of the $35,000 in the fund, $25,000 is contributed by Speight's, while the rest comes from donations made by the public.
Last year, the Save the Otago Peninsula trust was awarded close to $20,000 for two projects.
Te Kakano Aotearoa trust, Sinclair Wetlands, and Orokonui Ecosanctuary were also among the organisations awarded money from the fund in 2014.
Applications for the 2015 funding cycle would close on October 31, and the winners would be announced in November, Mr Frankish said.
