This time, it is a Christmas pudding, which has been posted from the United Kingdom.
Unfortunately, the postal address has worn off the package during its transport from the Auckland mail centre to the Dunedin mail centre.
New Zealand Post coastal Otago area manager Craig Strathern said the only details they had to work with were the sender’s.
It was sent from Arkholme, in Lancashire, by a woman named Jill, but there was no sender’s address and it was hoped the intended recipient was expecting it.
In August, Mr Strathern asked the Otago Daily Times for help to forward another mysterious, unaddressed prepaid delivery bag, containing a fruit cake, to its intended recipient.
"It’s getting to be a bit of a habit," he joked.
Hilda Chalmers (81), of Mosgiel, recognised the photo of her cake in the paper and after she called the mail centre, it was delivered to its intended recipient — her grandson in Canterbury.
Because the latest treat was sent from overseas, Mr Strathern said it would be more difficult to track down the sender.
