A man has been arrested in Dunedin after a charity box was stolen and an elderly woman knocked to the ground.
The box was taken from the counter at the Regent Theatre in the lower Octagon about 1pm today.
The man was chased by theatre staff and staff from neighbouring restaurant Vault 21.
As the man ran along Princes St, he knocked down a woman, believed to be in her 70s, before being tackled by a member of the public.
Several more people then jumped on the man until police arrived.
