Dunedin auctioneer Chris Kennedy last night made the final of the Australasian auctioneering championships.

"I'm absolutely chuffed. It's something I've been working towards for quite some time," the Harcourts Dunedin principal said after the semifinals in Auckland last night. `It's just a matter of making sure you get the numbers right and being yourself."

Mr Kennedy qualified for the championships after winning the 2010 national real estate auctioneers' championships in July.

He will be joined in today's final at the Aotea Centre by Auckland auctioneer Rob Tulp and three Australian auctioneers.

The results will be announced tonight.
